چکیده

Since its founding, NASA has been dedicated to the advancement of aeronautics and space science. The NASA Scientific and Technical Information (STI) Program Office plays a key part in helping NASA maintain this important role. The NASA STI Program Office is operated by Langley Research Center, the lead center for NASA's scientific and technical information. The NASA STI Program Office provides access to the NASA STI Database, the largest collection of aeronautical and space science STI in the world. The Program Office is also NASA's institutional mechanism for disseminating the results of its research and development activities. These results are published by NASA in the NASA STI Report Series, which includes the following report types: • TECHNICAL PUBLICATION. Reports of completed research or a major significant phase of research that present the results of NASA programs and include extensive data or theoretical analysis. Includes compilations of significant scientific and technical data and information deemed to be of continuing reference value. NASA's counterpart of peer-reviewed formal professional papers but has less stringent limitations on manuscript length and extent of graphic presentations. • TECHNICAL MEMORANDUM. Scientific and technical findings that are preliminary or of specialized interest, e.g., quick release reports, working papers, and bibliographies that contain minimal annotation. Does not contain extensive analysis. • CONTRACTOR REPORT. Scientific and technical findings by NASA-sponsored contractors and grantees. • CONFERENCE PUBLICATION. Collected papers from scientific and technical conferences, symposia, seminars, or other meetings sponsored or cosponsored by NASA. • SPECIAL PUBLICATION. Scientific, technical, or historical information from NASA programs, projects, and mission, often concerned with subjects having substantial public interest. • TECHNICAL TRANSLATION. English-language translations of foreign scientific and technical material pertinent to NASA's mission. Specialized services that complement the STI Program Office's diverse offerings include creating custom thesauri, building customized databases, organizing and publishing research results. .. even providing videos. ii Foreword Prior to 1990, knowledge of the orbital debris environment could be broken down into two size regimes. For low Earth orbiting objects larger than about 10-20 cm diameter, the U.S. Space Command maintains a catalog which includes debris as well as intact satellites and rocket bodies. The 10-20 cm diameter limit is the result of the wavelengths (~70 cm or longer) and sensitivities of the radars used to detect and track the objects. Knowledge of debris smaller than about 0.1 cm comes from analysis of surfaces that have been exposed to space …

Intraconal Orbital Angioleiomyoma: A Case Report and Review of Literature

Purpose: To present a patient with interaconal orbital angioleiomyoma. Case Report: A 22-year-old woman presented with painless slowly progressive proptosis. CT and MRI demonstrated a well-defined Interaconal globe size mass (inferomedially). It was isointense in T1 and T2 weighted and homogenously enhanced by Gadolinium. During the surgery, the tumor was excised via a lateral orbitotomy approa...

New NASA Policy for Limiting Orbital Debris Generation

S FROM THE NASA ORBITAL DEBRIS PROGRAM OFFICE 54th International Astronautical Congress 29 September—3 October 2003, Bremen, Germany N. JOHNSON NASA Policy Directive (NPD) 8710.3, NASA Policy for Limiting Orbital Debris Generation, was revised as NPD 8710.3A in January 2003, reflecting the growing importance of orbital debris mitigation and a need to identify and to expand the responsibilities ...

An ontological architecture for orbital debris data (First published Aug. 2015)

The orbital debris problem presents an opportunity for inter-agency and international cooperation toward the mutually beneficial goals of debris prevention, mitigation, remediation, and improved space situational awareness (SSA). Achieving these goals requires sharing orbital debris and other SSA data. Toward this, I present an ontological architecture for the orbital debris domain, taking step...

Substructure and Tidal Debris in Local Galaxies: Models and Observations

One of the generic predictions of modern cosmological models is that large galaxies should have experienced many mergers with smaller galaxies at some point in their past. Debris from such encounters will leave spatially distinct substructure in the stellar haloes of nearby galaxies, detectable for a few orbital periods after the final merger. In the case of the Milky Way, kinematic data from s...

Sclopetaria; Systematic Review and Case Report of the Prognosis and Treatment Mechanism

Purpose: To report a case of traumatic sclopetaria and to present a review on the mechanism of traum, disease prognosis, and treatment methods. Case Report: A 18-year-old male was assaulted with an air gun from a 3-meter distance. The projectile had entered the left orbit without rupturing the globe. He presented to the emergency room with BCVA of hand motion OS and 20/20 OD. He had a left rAPD...
